IMPORTANT: Visiting research teams (from outside Furman University) must submit the Summer 2012 REU Application (PDF) by March 15, 2012.

Please complete the PDF application using the on-screen fields and then print the document to add signatures. It will be much appreciated if the completed applications are scanned and emailed to karen.buchmueller@furman.edu. (Any additional materials can be in either Word or PDF format.)

Applications are accepted ONLY from TEAMS composed of a faculty member and student(s). Students may NOT apply individually to the program. Also:

• Participating students must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
• Participating students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program (and plan to be enrolled during fall term of 2011).
• Students of under-represented minority groups are especially encouraged to participate.

The program will run May 14 through July 22 (10 weeks). Students will receive a stipend of $4,000 and a $1,000 housing/transportation allowance. Faculty are eligible for a stipend of up to $8,000 as well as support for supplies. Prospective teams should contact the Program Co-Directors for more information:
